  • Focus on that one task only for the 25 minutes with no other distractions.
  • When the timer goes off, take a five-minute break to rest.
  • Repeat this process with a brand-new task.
  • After four Pomodoros, take a longer break of 15 to 20 minutes. Get up from your desk and walk around. Then sit back down and repeat the process.

By combining the Pomodoro technique with your task lists, you break up your workload into manageable chunks while accomplishing more.

To-Do Lists and the Eisenhower Matrix

The Eisenhower Matrix is a great tool for organizing your tasks based on their urgency and importance. The Matrix is simply a grid with four quadrants, each representing different tasks.

  • Quadrant 1: Urgent/important tasks.
  • Quadrant 2: Important but not urgent tasks.
  • Quadrant 3: Urgent but not important tasks.
  • Quadrant 4: Not urgent and not important tasks.

To use the Eisenhower Matrix for task management, identify the tasks each day that fit in each grid section. Then prioritize the tasks starting with Quadrant 1.
